Start your meal with the sumptuous foe gras mousse, prosciutto, trout spread with house-made pickles, beer mustard, and grilled bread. This spread prepares you for the seafood staples like rock shrimp and cold water oysters.

If you have a hankering for meat, the Bethel Trails pork belly and slow cooked short rib are the hearty choices. Wash them all down with cleverly-named cocktails or imported European wines.

Its classic burger is a go-to comfort food so are the chicken sandwich and sloppy Josephus. Local ingredients shine through in all of GB&D’s dishes and they always taste fresh and delicious.

Bibimbap, duck and grits, poutine, and curried sweet potatoes may seem out-of-place in a burger joint, but it would be a grave mistake not to try them.

If you want honest-to-goodness Italian cooking with a modern twist, you can’t go wrong with Jianna. Located in the heart of Downtown Greenville, the modern Italian eatery boasts of its hand-made and hand-rolled pastas. Every meal pays homage to traditional Italian cooking but also reinvigorates it with new cooking techniques.

Unique and modern preparations of fresh seafood are paired with handcrafted drinks created by mixologists who know their cocktails very well. The 360-degree oyster bar is constantly replenished with fresh oysters which are best served with hot sauce and Moscato Mignonette which are both made in-house.

The Trappe Door

Thirsty travellers are in for a treat at the Trappe Door, a speakeasy-inspired restaurant and bar overflowing with Belgian beer and Old World food. The atmospheric basement location takes you back to the time of Prohibition where liquor is illicit and scarce. But not at the Trappe Door where it’s teeming with the finest selection of beer, wine, and liquor.

Its beer battered cod and frites is a classic and a must-try. Their Moules Frites selection includes five different mussel pots served with a generous serving of delectable homemade fries. It’s a culinary adventure in its own right with every beer in the menu pairing nicely with the entrees.

S.B.H. BBQ CO.

This is competition BBQ at its finest and is made available to the hungry masses of Greenville. There’s a reason why S.B.H is racking up wins in the BBQ circuit and the BBQ-loving public deserves to taste the succulent slow-cooked prime brisket, ribs, and pork medallions.

Everything in the menu is a must-try, but if you want a quick BBQ bite, you can’t go wrong with the Sweaty Pig pulled pork, Jack cheese, spicy coleslaw, and fried jalapenos ensemble.

The Texas-style brisket and ribs are smoked fresh daily and they do sell out fast. So come early or give S.B.H. a 24-hour notice if you’re ordering more than three pounds.

Fork and Plough

Fork and Plough is Greenville neighborhood’s restaurant, butchery, and a grocery store rolled into one. Naturally, the dishes are cooked to perfection using local ingredients sourced just a stone’s throw away from your table.

Its ever-changing menu gives diners a variety of dishes with the help of local artisanal producers, farmers, and fishmongers. A mainstay though is the grass-fed shiitake Swiss cheeseburger served with arugula, aioli, and French fries. And if you find the crab stuffed catfish and Bert’s beef and black bean chili on the menu, order them!

Mekong Restaurant

This Vietnamese restaurant is proof that Greenville is a melting pot of different types of cuisines and culinary influences. They grow their own vegetables and produce in their bucket garden at the back of the restaurant, which is the shortest “farm-to-table” sprint.

Authentic dishes that you would find in the streets of Vietnam are on offer in Mekong—from spring rolls to duck rice vermicelli to stir-fry noodles to pho soup. Also, try any (or all) of the desserts on their menu. You can try the mango rice pudding for starters.

That’s right, Willy Taco is serious about its zero waste efforts. Leftovers are collected and processed into nutrient-rich soil compost. But then again, with food so good, there wouldn’t be a lot of leftovers!

The tres amigos taco served with salsa, queso blanco, guacamole and chips is muy deliciosa. But if it’s not a Taco kind of day, go ahead and try the chimichanga, burrito bowl 3.0 or the torta burger for a more adventurous dining experience.
