Experience South Carolina

Steak Houses in Myrtle Beach

Myrtle Beach is not only the perfect vacation destination with family and friends, but it’s also an ideal melting pot of cuisine and culture. Myrtle Beach has some of the best restaurants in the Grand Strand.  Here are some recommendations that you must visit when you’re looking for a steak fix.

New York Prime

New York Prime is an upscale steakhouse on 28th Avenue, near the waters of beautiful Myrtle Beach. They have an exquisite menu of aged steaks, classic sides, and fresh seafood dishes. Its mysterious and inviting facade exudes the promise of exclusivity and refinement—all this, paired with warm Southern hospitality, totals to an unforgettable dining experience.

New York Prime offers the only all-Prime experience on the Grand Strand. For context, only 3% of all consumed beef is graded USDA grade prime. All their steaks are aged for a minimum of four weeks. Their Petit Filet pairs well with the Charred Brussel Sprouts. If you’re really hungry, the 22 oz. Bone-In Ribeye is perfectly complemented by the Asparagus with Hollandaise. Their wine list is extensive and personally vetted by the owners. This is perfect for date night or a business dinner to impress clients.

Rioz Brazilian Steakhouse

Rioz Brazilian Steakhouse is South Carolina’s premier churrascaria. This upscale restaurant can be found on North Kings Highway. Their food is made fresh, served in the spirit of true Southern Brazilian cooking. Rioz is interesting because it is an experience, as you are greeted and served by authentic Brazilian Gauchos tableside.

Rioz Brazilian Steakhouse serves its steaks differently from other concepts. Their meats are slow-cooked over wood charcoal, giving it an excellent and unique depth of flavor. Sample the Fraldinha, a perfectly seasoned bottom cut of sirloin. The Filet ou Frango com Bacon is also a must-try — mouthwatering tenderloin wrapped in juicy bacon. Getting their Papaya Cream for dessert would be an excellent way to cap off your meal at Rioz.

Carolina Roadhouse

Carolina Roadhouse is one of Myrtle Beach’s most popular steak restaurants. This usually busy casual eatery is located off N Kings Highway. The interior is quite a unique space — vaulted ceilings, intimate booths, and an open kitchen. It’s got this lodge ambiance that makes you want to kick back, relax, and dine your heart out.

Carolina Roadhouse’s steaks are prepared Pittsburgh-style, a technique that chars the exterior while leaving the inside juicy and cooked to temperature. The 18 oz. Bone-in Ribeye pairs well with their garlic mashed potato. You must try the Marinated Sirloin, soaked in a unique blend of fruit juices, spices, garlic, and soy sauce. Their steaks are Aged USDA Choice cuts and served with a  house or caesar salad and your choice of sides.

Ruth’s Chris

Ruth’s Chris started as Chris Steak House in 1965. When a fire destroyed it in 1976, the matriarch of this restaurant was forced to relocate and change the name. Hence Ruth’s Chris was born. This Myrtle Beach favorite is conveniently located just a little bit off Highway 17. It has a beautiful patio where you can see and hear the sea. Its interiors are relaxing yet sophisticated.

Each steak is prepared the way Ruth does it: with love and perfectly seared in an 1800° custom broiler. It is then finished with butter, parsley and served on a sizzling plate. You can choose from a variety of USDA Prime Steaks like the 24 oz. fully flavored T-Bone Steak. You must also try the Filet, an 11 oz cut of tender and juicy corn-fed Mid-western beef. Finish off your visit to Ruth’s Chriss with a slice of the Chocolate Sin Cake, a flourless cake with ganache and raspberry sauce.

Chuck’s Steak House

Chuck’s Steak House is a family-owned and operated restaurant on Highway 17. They serve only Certified Angus Beef ® and Certified Angus Beef ® Prime, so you know it’s going to be a good time. They’ve been at it since 1979, and they’ve been giving diners happy smiles and full tummies ever since.

Chuck’s Steak House ages their Prime cuts for 28 days, building layers upon layers of flavor. The Sirloin and New York Strip are must-tries. But the one you should absolutely get is the slow-cooked Boneless Prime Rib, served with hot and savory au jus. This has a unique atmosphere and decor, making it perfect for an unforgettable date night.

Thoroughbreds Chophouse

Thoroughbreds Chophouse is a classy steak joint on Highway 17. It has an exclusive clubhouse interior lit softly, accentuating the warm earth tones and complementing the fireplace. Thoroughbreds Chophouse has six dining rooms with unique ambiances and two fully stocked bars for your satisfaction.

Thoroughbreds Chophouse has some of the best selections of steaks in Myrtle Beach. The 30 oz. Prime Tomahawk Ribeye is to die for — juicy, tender, and packed with flavor. The Black Angus Filet Mignon is perfectly cut and cooked to your preference. If you want to impress on a date, get the Chateaubriand Bouquetière, where a perfectly seasoned center-cut filet mignon is carved, cooked, and flamed tableside.

TBonz Gill & Grill

TBonz Gill & Grill has been providing Myrtle Beach a relaxing dining experience for over two decades. They’re located on Highway 17, in sight of the glistening waters of the Intercoastal Waterway.  If you’re looking for a laid-back and casual joint where you can enjoy good steak and good drinks, this is the spot for you. This place is perfect for a chill family meal or a peaceful night out with friends.

TBonz Gill & Grill proudly serves Certified Angus Beef® steaks, served with house or caesar salad, and a choice of one side. We recommend trying their perfectly crusted, tender, and juicy Dry Rub Sirloin. The 18 oz. T-Bone Steak pairs great with Sauteed Mushrooms & Onions on the side. If you’re craving a taste of the surf with the turf, you can pair it with grilled or fried jumbo shrimp and light and fresh coconut shrimp.

Fire & Smoke

Fire & Smoke is a hidden gem on 79th Avenue. This restaurant mainly serves American fusion and Southern favorites. Using fresh local ingredients is important to Fire & Smoke, so you know that you’re only going to get top-quality meals here. Fire & Smoke also offers upmarket microbrew beers, quality wine, and high-end spirits to complement your meal.

Fire & Smoke is also great at making tasty steaks. We recommend the Kansas Strip, a Bone-in Strip Steak that pairs well with the Brandy Peppercorn Sauce. Another menu item of note is the USDA Prime Short Rib, braised over 5 hours and rubbed with espresso. This is served with a Truffled Parsnip and Yukon Potato puree and Bacon Braised Collard Greens. If you’re looking to dine on great meat in a no-frills setting, Fire & Smoke is a worthy stop on your Myrtle Beach trip.
