There aren’t many people who can say their net worth is in the billions. One of the few who can is Charleston’s own Anita Zucker. Anita moved to Charleston in 1978 and has continued to live in the city ever since.
After starting her professional career as a middle school teacher in her early twenties, Anita and her late husband, Jerry Zucker, decided to launch the chemical manufacturing company, InterTech, in 1982.
Anita sat down with WCBD NEWS a few years back to give some background on her business and how she got started.

What is Anita Zucker's Net Worth?
While there is some uncertainty of exactly how much Anita is worth, Forbes estimates that her net worth is somewhere between 2.5 and 3.5 billion.
This makes Anita the richest person in South Carolina by possibly over a billion dollars. The second richest person in the state is Darla Moore, whose net worth is reportedly around 2.3 billion.
