You enter as strangers and leave as friends. This is Aunny’s Country Kitchen promise to its guests. This family-owned joint serves soul food that makes you feel right at home. A definite must-try at Aunny’s are their renditions of Southern favorites like ribs, collard greens, shrimp and grits, and of course, fried chicken.

However, one of the biggest reasons people keep coming back to Aunny’s is their renowned homemade pies. While they are all to die for, you must absolutely try their sweet potato pie. If you’re in Georgetown and lookin’ for a fixin’, Aunny’s is the place for you.

Rollin Local

At the corner of Front and Broad Streets sits Rollin Local, a quaint and homey Asian-inspired restaurant. It’s right across the street from the South Carolina Maritime Museum, making it quite easy to find. Being close to the waterfront, their outdoor seating is a good choice if you want to feel the breeze and and enjoy the views.

River Room Restaurant

If you want to put a seafood spin on your Georgetown trip, River Room Restaurant is the joint to visit. It’s found in the J.B. Steele building along Front Street, and its imposing red-brick facade definitely exudes history and class. Their dining room stretches for up to 50 feet into the Sampit River, and their panoramic windows offer an unparalleled view of the harbor.

The River Room Restaurant has been serving coastal-inspired food since the early ‘80s. They serve cost-efficient lunch items, from which you must try their notable Shrimp and Grits, Pecan Chicken Salad and Shrimp Creole. Their dinner menu features fresh fish from local waters that are cooked to perfection. River Room is a piece of Georgetown harbor history that you most certainly wouldn’t want to miss.

Tony's Famous Pizza

Tony’s Famous Pizza is a Georgetown original with humble origins, serving fresh quality food since they first opened in 1979. You must try the House Special pizza and the Cheese Manicotti pasta, then finish the meal off with fine wine from their collection. If you need something simply delicious, then Tony’s Famous Pizza will surely tick that box.

SoCo Grille

SoCo Grille is a restaurant with Southern style and a Southwestern flair. SoCo prides itself in local love; they serve freshly prepared homemade dishes using only the best local ingredients Georgetown can offer. They get their meats from local butchers and all their seafood right off the town’s docks. No frozen fish or meat means that only crisp and fresh flavors touch the plate and reach your table.

SoCo Grille has three locations you can dine in, and all of them are worth your time. If you want a more inland location where you can enjoy the historic roads of Downtown Georgetown, then you might want to check out their restaurant on Screven Street. However, if you’re looking to have a better view of the glistening waters that run around Georgetown, then the Belle Isle and Front Street locations are your best bet.
